Board #2
Board #2, model Amaru, laid up Sep 2. 125 x 38, 4.0 cm rocker, 3.5 cm concave, extruded poly core. Deck: 9oz bi x 2, bottom 5.6oz kev + 6oz gl, wrapped rails.
The basic board after the foam is shaped.
I used tape to hold the wrapped kevlar in place before layup. Since then I just wing it, it's not such a mess to just wet one side, flip it over, and wrap the rails with a squeegee and some patience.
Here's how the layup looked on the rocker table before bagging.
Two garbage bags are taped together and put over the wet board and table. The vacuum pump (an old refrigerator compressor) pumps out the air and draws everything together very tightly.
Pulling the peel-ply and breather blanket off, this is a lot of work.
The last layer of bottom glass was hand-layup and no vacuum.
Jezebel is my main board tester!
