| One on One went to the Wisconsin Humane Society this week to do a community service project. Our job was to make scratching posts for cats. The Humane Society sells these in their store to raise money. Breon, Charlie, and a few others took a few pictures in between hammering and sanding.
Even Doug is sanding.
Happy to be helping out!
There are many more pictures of the trip to see. I have put all of them into a photo gallery, click here to see it. BTW, I am playing with some new scripts, please email me if anything is acting funny. |
The scratching posts are built using a sturdy, round post which is nailed to a plywood base. Then you wrap miles of sisal rope around the post (very tightly) and nail in place. The post is an excellent way for cats to stretch and exercise, and may also save the furniture!. It takes about 10 miles of rope to cover the scratching post.
More sanding...
Thanks again to all the folks at Wisconsin Humane Society. We had a great time! BTW, you can visit their excellent website by clicking here. |
