Framing

Aug 6.  The first few rafters are up.  Once the ridge beam was up, cutting and placing rafters was pretty easy.  Working on the gable end is kind of tricky, though.  The peak is almost 20 feet off the ground, a little nerve-wracking.

July 26, there is a bit of a loft to sit on!  The roof framing will assembled mostly by standing on the loft, so I wanted to get this up early.

2 weeks after breaking ground.

Here are the first girders going up, just 5 days into the project.

The girders are double 2x10s.  Everything is fastened with 1/2 carriage bolts.

Braces are 4x6s.  This cluster has been spiked into place but not bolted yet.
